Joe Felin sent me an e-mail that read something like, "A long way from Turnbow." For those who don't know what Turnbow is, it is a river that ran through Webster County near the farm where we grew up. Lacy Branch, a spring-fed stream, was on our farm and a tributary of Turnbow. I remember Joe irrigating crops with water from Lacy Branch. Looked like an engineering miracle to my five-year-old self. Still does.
