When we lived in Marshfield in the 40's and 50's, there were two Black people in the town, Rosie and her son Del Massey. Rosie had been a slave. She and her son kept very much to themselves. I believe she cleaned houses and her son raised hunting dogs and did various jobs for people around town. They had no heirs and left their few acres to the town.
