At the top of the Spanish Steps where there is a Sacred Heart Convent and School. I knew a chapel within housed the miraculous Mater painting. We climbed more steps where a door was open. A guard was turning people away, and a sign read "PRIVATE SCHOOL." I explained that three of us wanted only to see the Mater. He nodded and held up three fingers, still shooing others away. Then he unlocked an inner door and indicated we should climb more stairs. (More stairs!) We started up. Two flights up we found ourselves in a small chapel. There she was (photo below), surprisingly small, perhaps 4 ft x 3 ft. When we got back down the stairs to the guard, he unlocked the doors and let us out. We thanked him well!
Top two photos are just to the right of the Sacred Heart complex and on the street at top of Spanish Steps.
