Margaret Anne is still in the hospital. She now has an infection that was caused by the surgery itself. The infectious diseases specialists is treating her with IV antibiotics which should take care of the infection in time. Margaret says that she is NOT going home until she is sure she is O.K. this time. Her phone number at the hospital is: (636) 916-6226.

We have Catrina's son, Sam, with us for a couple of days. And we have another young friend, Jamil, from Bloomington, IN, so these two boys should have a fine time together. They are near the same age, nine, and have interests in common.

No word yet from Mark who had his shoulder surgery yesterday.

I had cards from Catrina and Sandi, wishing me the best and remembering me in their prayers.

Pete and Janet will be here around September 20. We hope to get as many of the family together during their stay as we can.

Leslie and Chase, my former Springfield neighbors, will be in town over the weekend and will spend the night with us.

I continue to be amazed and gratified that so many of my family, Den's son and daughter, my sons, and their young friends do so much for me. Whenever I have any kind of need--whether it be for transport, shopping, company, haircut, or the loan of their children--all I have to do is put out an APB. An example in point, Scott's former wife from Columbia, Candace, is cleaning the lake house this week. Doug and Suzanne and their children and I will spend the weekend of August 20-23 at the Lake.
