Jalen called to tell me he has learned to ride his two-wheeler, "on rocks, on grass, all over!" Dad taught him. Jalen also gave a further report on Brayden's climbing into the sink: "He even had Dad's toothbrush in his mouth and the water running!" Jalen's paternal great-grandfather died recently. Some of the family, Jalen included, are traveling to the state of Washington (after a trip to Washington, D.C., first) to scatter his ashes. Jalen's rendition of all this to me was something like, "You know, some people when they die are buried and some are burned up. He was burned up." Another part of our conversation was Jalen's thanking me--again--for the PS2 Harry Potter Game and the ten-dollar bill. Oh, the wonders of the six-year-old's world! Scott said the call was Jalen's idea, mainly over the excitement of learning to ride his bike without training wheels.
